Bowerbirds is one of my new favorite bands. Over at Kitsune Noir, Bobby posted this video of theirs which is one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a long time! I have a great fondness for stop motion. Some of the moments in this are absolutely magical. My particular favorite is the scene with the winter waterfall.

These are three of my pieces from 2009. I'm questioning how I photographed my work. I think the next step in the work is going to be building environments that function as tableaus for my garments to exist within.

My family is moving back to Ohio. After so long of being gone I don't know if i can go back. I suppose life can sometime seem like it's in a rush to become a full circle. Perhaps in six months I'll be ready to be a real person. Perhaps in six months I'll have more courage. Perhaps in six months it will hurt just as much as it does now, I'll just be able to hide it better.

I stumbled across these videos while looking more into work done with prosthetics. It is a show done by the Performance Art/Theater Troup Implied Violence. I don't think the video does justice to the performance but non the less the aesthetics of the costumes and the environment of the home is really wonderful.

This is a picture of Phoolan that was taken after her surrender to the Madhya Pradesh Police. She doesn't quite fit my criteria for roll model but she certainly is badass. I'm becoming addicted to stories about woman soldiers. If you have any good ones pass them along.

I'm currently working on a product design project where I've chosen the material of felt and I have to figure out how to make an object that's comfortable to sit on... a.k.a. a chair. Our teacher doesn't want us to limit ourselves to the idea of a chair so I've been trying to look at a lot of different uses of felt and its different properties. Although this chair is pretty strait forward I like the technique of injecting the felt with resin to stiffen it. I'm not sure how that would change the surface of the felt though, and the felt's texture is part of what draws me to it. If you visit Brandon Norsted's website he's got a lot of different interesting pieces of furniture in felt.
