In Our Talons

Bowerbirds is one of my new favorite bands. Over at Kitsune Noir, Bobby posted this video of theirs which is one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a long time! I have a great fondness for stop motion. Some of the moments in this are absolutely magical. My particular favorite is the scene with the winter waterfall.

Photographing the Hidden Story

This TED talk by photographer and documentary film maker, Ryan Lobo, touches on crucial aspects of remarkable story telling. His closing remarks resonate with me and what I want to do through storytelling:

"Sometimes, focusing on what's heroic, beautiful and dignified, regardless of the context, can help magnify these intangibles three ways, in the protagonist of the story, in the audience, and also in the storyteller. And that's the power of storytelling. Focus on what's dignified, courageous and beautiful, and it grows."
